St Mac Cairthinn (506) a colleague of St Patrick who is said to be first bishop of Clogher. There are 2 9/10C High Crosses (made of pieces from 3) and a 10-11C sundial in the cathedral porch.

The Reliquary ‘Great Shrine of Saint Mac Cairthinn’ used for his relics and those of the True Cross, also a Bell from the monastery, are in the National Museum.
