Ferbane

County Offaly

St Canoc (or Michonoge) founded a monastery here in 492. Canoc was the nephew of St David. Many monasteries in this area, i.e. Ferbane, Lynally, and Lemanaghan, had strong links with Wales and it maybe a good number of the monks came from there. 203 Grave slabs were found here.
