County Monaghan

St Tiernan (or Tighernach) (550) founded many monasteries, including one here. He was a monk and bishop and also called Tighernach or Manchen. There is a 12C High Cross (it is actually parts of 2 put together), and a Round Tower and St Tiernan's 10C grave in the graveyard not far away. St Ultan is also buried here.
