St Dermot (6C) founded the monastery here. It was originally called Disert Dermot i.e. ‘Dermot’s hermitage’. There are 2 10C High crosses and a cross base, a 10 C Round Tower, Cross Slabs and Grave Slabs. A Grave Slab may cover the saint’s tomb.
