Caherlehillan

County Kerry (Iveragh Peninsula)

This is an exceptionally important site. As the result of pottery finds it seems possible to date the site as one of the earliest Christian sites to date. There is an early shrine and 2 Cross Slabs. One may have a peacock on it – which may connect it with North Africa.

OS 83 572 835 marked ‘cillin’
