Ballywiheen

County Kerry (Dingle Peninsula)

There was an early Christian settlement here comprising now the ruins of a ‘boat-shaped’ oratory within an enclosure and a mound of stones which probably were 2 outdoor altars. There is a Cross Slab within the site and a large cross outside in the hedgerow nearby on the other side of the road.

OS 70 352 035

There is an interesting Cross Slab and a Holy Well, now dry, 400m East
