Connemara, County Galway

St Fechin founded a monastery on the island in 634. There is an oratory, cells, an enclosure, graves, and several cross slabs, and holy wells.

St Gormgal died on the island in 1017. Brian Boru, the High King of Ireland, is said to have come to him because of his sanctity in order to make his confession.
