Clonkeenkerrill

County Galway

St Kerrill made an early foundation here. There is a church and a cross base. Not far away we saw both an old and a new sign to St Kerrill's Well. The only thing we could find was a great hole, probably made with a JCB filled with water and surrounded by barbed wire. Given the new direction sign on the road hopefully this may represent an attempt to restore the well?
