The name comes from ‘Culdees’ a monastic reform movement of the 8C. In the churchyard is a Pillar Stone with the figure of a pilgrim on it, though some say it is that of a bishop. There is also a Cross Slab, a Holed Stone and a multiple bullaun stone with a cross on the other side
