Kilbroney

County Down

St Bronagh, said to be a disciple of St Patrick, founded a monastery for women in a wonderful setting up in the hills. There is a 15C church, a Holy Well and 2 crosses of note. Her bell was recovered, amazingly, from a tree in a storm and is in the Catholic Church nearby
