Skerries

County Antrim

There is a 15C church built on a high rock with a fine view looking over to Slemish Mountain one of the traditional sites where St Patrick spent his captivity feeding pigs on the mountain. 'The church was built here because it was said to be the site of the house of St Patrick's owner Miliuc when he was a slave and because the Angel that spoke to Patrick left his footmark on the rock.
